About The Owner
Hillary Elgert Marques has been a full time pond professional since 1996, when she and a business partner started Backyard Ponds llc in the DC area. She started Pond Pro LLC to service the Frederick area after moving here in 2006, and currently maintains a roll as head foreman in both companies.
Hillary has always been somewhat of a tomboy, who regularly brought things home from the creek, and kept small ponds in her yard as a kid. She has traveled to many trade shows over the years, and her current style of construction has been shaped by this exposure and her first-hand experience. This and her background in art and biology has helped her to become an inspired water feature builder, with a focus on a top quality construction, a keen eye for finding leaks, and assessing and repairing problems. She is familiar with all types of plants, and is an avid gardener at home.
